United Airlines is significantly expanding its nonstop transatlantic offering between Dublin and the U.S., announcing a more than 40% increase in seat capacity for summer 2025. The move marks the carrier’s highest-ever capacity from the Irish capital.

To meet growing demand, United has introduced upgauged widebody aircraft on selected dates of its Chicago O’Hare–Dublin service, transitioning from the scheduled Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner to larger variants in the 787 family.

The 787-8, which typically features a three-class configuration with 243 seats, has been supplemented by the 296-seat 787-9 and the 336-seat 787-10 in both three- and four-class configurations. These capacity increases allow the airline to offer more premium and economy seating options on peak travel days.
Data from Flightradar24 confirms that since the start of the IATA summer season, several higher-capacity Dreamliners have operated on the route, including:
