Aer Lingus has announced a new seasonal service between Dublin and Tromsø, Norway, to operate twice weekly throughout the winter 2025/26 schedule, to meet growing market demand for “coolcations” — winter holidays in chillier, scenic destinations.
The new route will run from 3 December 2025 to 25 March 2026, with flights departing on Wednesdays and Sundays. The service will be operated by a 174-seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft. Flight EIN628 will depart Dublin Airport at 07:00, arriving in Tromsø at 11:45 local time. The return flight, EIN629, will leave Tromsø at 12:35, landing in Dublin at 15:25.
Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberr said “Our new direct service from Dublin to Tromsø introduces Norway to the Aer Lingus network for the first time. This is a fantastic opportunity for our customers in Ireland to discover the natural beauty and unique experiences of Northern Norway this winter. The new route also offers the people of Tromsø and surrounding areas a convenient connection to Dublin and a chance to explore all that Ireland has to offer.”
Ulv Elbirk, Route Developer, Avinor, Airports of Norway, added “This route will establish the first direct connection between Tromsø and Ireland, and we expect that both Irish and American travellers will use it, thereby further supporting Tromsø’s phenomenal growth journey.”
Positioned as a gateway to the Arctic, Tromsø is renowned for its Northern Lights displays, winter sports, and arctic adventure tourism. Aer Lingus says the new route offers seamless connectivity for North American travellers, particularly from cities such as New York and Boston, via Dublin’s transatlantic network and U.S. Preclearance facilities.
