Aer Lingus has introduced its new two-class, 184-seat Airbus A321XLR on its Dublin-London Heathrow services, beginning January 6, 2025. According to Flightradar24 data, the inaugural flight, operating as EIN154/5, was flown by EI-XLR Airbus A321-253NY(XLR) msn 11590.

Aer Lingus becomes the second airline globally and the second within the IAG Group to operate A321XLR to Heathrow. The A321XLR, with its extended range, offers improved operational flexibility and resilience, making it suitable for short-, medium-, and long-haul routes.

According to Airbus Hamburg Finkenwerder News, the next four Airbus A321XLR aircraft are under construction: D-AZXO (EI-XLU) msn 12412, D-AZXD (EI-XLV) msn 12248, D-AVYM (EI-XLW) msn 12463, and EI-XLX msn 12549.
